A newspaper publisher was sued by a former executive of her company for breach of a stock purchase agreement. The employee was her general counsel. The client had previously lost a binding arbitration held before a retired California Supreme Court Justice, who awarded more than $10 million to the attorney. In the re-trial, Millstein argued the agreement violated legal ethics standards and a unanimous Panel of Arbitrators agreed.
